Accelerator is a third-party application that radically changes the Sage CRM user experience. There are 3 main feature sets with Accelerator, but this post focuses strictly on the Outlook integration portion of Accelerator.
Sage does contain a native Outlook Plugin which allows for the ability to file emails. It’s an effective and practical solution, but Accelerator introduces a significantly deeper level of Outlook integration.
See Accelerator in action:
Accelerator essentially adds Sage CRM directly into Outlook. This Sage CRM interface within Outlook doesn’t prevent us from having Sage CRM’s regular interface open either. So, if you have 2 monitors, you can essentially have 2 instances of Sage CRM open at the same time.
You can see in the video that Accelerator pulls up the correct contact information as you sort through your mail. So while you are looking at the email, you can see the corresponding CRM contact, and also communication, case or opportunity history. You can also make updates or enter new information into CRM without leaving the Outlook screen.
You can create communication records, cases, opportunities, and, if the person or company does not yet exist in Sage, you can select “New” and the system will automatically parse the data from the email to add into the new entry in Sage. As you can image, this is a huge time saver.
Accelerator also allows you to file emails from Outlook into Sage. It is similar to Sage’s native Outlook plugin, but with more options. A nice feature is the ability to change the subject line or edit the email before you file it or define if you want the email’s attachments saved. It also makes it easier to file your outbound emails.
Accelerator is very intuitive and makes getting information in and out of Sage CRM a lot easier.
